Summary: The film examines the roles of goddess, prostitute, slave, victim and mother and the status of women in ancient times. Selected ancient cities of the Ancient Aegean coast like Troy and Ephesus serve as visual materials and give important clues and the point of view about the variable status and daily life of women who had lived between the 5th and 6th century B.C. Starting with the legend of the creation the first women, the documentary shows both the story of ordinary women and the story of the significant characters of mythology such as Iphigenia and Sappho.
