Summary: Ahmet, Selma and Orhan grow up together. Selma and Orhan are rich, whereas Ahmet is the son of the butler. Orhan and Ahmet fancy Selma, Selma fancies Ahmet. Ahmet sacrifices his feelings at the expense of Orhan. Selma refuses Orhan's proposal, so Orhan goes to Europe. Ahmet urges Selma to write Orhan a letter. Orhan's plane crashes so they believe he died, Ahmet and Selma want to marry instead. As it turns out that he lives, Ahmet wants them to get married. Their marriage starts happily but ends up in a crisis. Ahmet tells Orhan that Selma has chosen him, so Orhan asks for her pardoning. Ahmet's example of self-sacrifice is sometimes a greater virtue than love.
